Join Us to Commemorate Patriot's Day at the Hawaiian Gardens Public Safety Center at 8:15 am, September 11, 2014.
The City of Hawaiian Gardens will join communities across the nation and host a Patriot Day event in memory of the 2,977 killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and reflect on the lasting impacts of that event on our nation and our community. The event will be highlighted by a moment of silence to honor the fallen, special words from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department and the L.A. County Fire Department, California State Assemblymember Anthony Rendon (D-63rd), a singing performance and presentations by representatives from the offices of Congressmember Linda Sanchez, California State Senate Office of the 30th District, L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe, and Hawaiian Gardens Mayor Reynaldo Rodriguez. The event is free and open to the public.
Special guest speakers Captain Keith Swensson (L.A. County Sheriff’s Department) and Chief Chris Jackson (L.A. County Fire Department), California State Assemblymember Anthony Rendon (D-63rd), Hawaiian Gardens City Council, representatives of elected offices at the national, state and local level, local resident and guest performer Sue Underwood, and residents and members of the community.
