Your Car is Being Targeted by Thieves!
When you parked your car did you close all the windows and lock all the doors? Did you take your valuables with you? Does your car look completely empty? If you cannot honestly say yes to all of these then your car is being targeted by thieves.
Some thieves walk along streets or in parking lots checking door handles to find the cars that have been left open and unlocked. Once they find your car unlocked they will steal anything they believe is valuable. Solution- Lock your car!
Other thieves target cars based on what they see inside. When they find an attractive target and the car is locked, they will break the window to gain access. Anything left in your car is a target. The most commonly stolen items are laptops, cell phones, jewelry, and cash. But other items like change, gift cards, and paperwork are attractive too. Hiding your property works if you do it before you arrive at your destination. Hiding your property in a gym bag doesn't work if it is left on the front seat. Thieves will suspect that you have something in the bag, even if it is empty. Solution- Leave no property in the passenger compartment and hide property in your trunk before you arrive at your destination.
Avoid having your window shattered, and your property stolen, keep your valuables in your home not in your car. Solution- Always keep your valuables out of sight.
Lock It, Hide It, Keep It!
