You're invited to our FREE Child Passenger (Car Seat) Check - 09/24/2014, 3:30 PM - 7PM!
We're hosting a FREE Car Seat Check in conjunction with Washington County Public Health and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.
The check will be staffed with nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians from the Whitehall Police Department, Washington County Public Health, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Cambridge-Greenwich Police Department, Easton-Greenwich Rescue Squad, Granville Rescue Squad, Inc., and AAA Northway!
The Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on-hand will provide free education on how to use car seats, booster seats, and seat belts for children. Technicians can also help educate consumers about choosing the right car seat for their child, the importance of registering car seats with the manufacturer, and what to expect should that seat be subject to a safety recall.
Did you know... 3 out of 4 kids are not as secure in the car as they should be because their car seats are not being used correctly. Using the correct restraints reduces infants’ and toddlers’ chances for fatal injury by 71% and 54% in passenger cars respectively.
Be sure to bring your child, your child's seat, and the instruction manuals for your vehicle and your child's seat!
For any questions.. Please contact Whitehall Police - Deputy to the Chief Tim Hardy @ (518)499-1316 Ext. 1702, or Washington County Public Health - Health Educator Elizabeth St. John @ (518)746-2400 Ext. 3478.
