Update to the earlier message about the possible water main break at Vanowen / Variel: 
Earlier, there was a Nixle post about a possible water main break in the area of Vanowen Street and Variel Avenue. Topanga Patrol Officers received a radio call from a concerned citizen who observed water in the roadway.
Upon their arrival, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called out to assist in the investigation. The investigation revealed that there was NO water main break and the water observed was standing water only. It was determined that there is no threat to the public.
The roads have been reopened to vehicle traffic. Thank you for your cooperation.
