SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Two vehicle, rollover accident
DATE AND TIME: Carson City Road (M-57) at Town Hall Road, Bushnell Township
LOCATION: Thursday September 11, 2014 at approximately 3:32 P.M.
Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a two vehicle, rollover accident with injuries on Carson City Road at Town Hall Road in Bushnell Township on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at approximately 3:32 P.M.
The deputies determined that a 2008 Ford F-150 towing a utility trailer driven by a 31 year old Mount Pleasant man was travelling north on Town Hall Road and failed to stop for the stop sign at Carson City Road. A 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 61 Stanton man was headed west on Carson City Road. The Stanton man tried to avoid the 2008 Ford and took evasive action however struck the utility trailer. The impact caused both vehicles to leave the road and overturn.
The Stanton man was transported to Carson City Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained as a result of the crash and later transferred to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing where he remains in serious condition. The Mount Pleasant man was uninjured.
The Mount Pleasant man was cited for disregarding a stop sign. There were no other contributing factors in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Deputies where assisted at the scene by members of the Sheridan Fire Department, Montcalm County Emergency Services, the Montcalm County Road Commission, and Michigan State Police.
