There were numerous thefts from UNLOCKED vehicles in the North St./Girard Ave. area last night. In addition it appears that the subjects left a previously stolen vehicle in the area and then stole another one to leave. If anyone observed or heard anything suspicious please call 652-1111. Remember, larceny is generally a crime of opportunity. A simple task like locking your car doors or taking your valuables out of eyesight from within the car can go a long way in preventing YOUR property from being taken. Same goes for your residence when you are not home or at night. Also if you see or hear anything suspicious call 911 ASAP so officers can check the area right away. Don't wait a couple of days before calling.
