Motorists who usually take Kamehameha Hwy. in the Heeia area are advised to use an alternate route this afternoon and evening as Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews repair a leak on the 16-inch transmission main at 46-226 Kamehameha Hwy., near King Intermediate School.
A BWS contractor has been working in the area and has been contra-flowing one lane of traffic during the day. Due to the repair, the existing lane closure will be extended throughout tonight.
The leak was reported about 2:30 p.m. Repair work will not impact water service to any customers.
