LASD MDR: On Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 1350 hours, Ocean Rescue (LACo Sheriff, LACo Fire, LACo Baywatch) received information via VHF radio regarding an inbound aircraft experiencing engine problems on its approach into LAX Airport. The type of aircraft (passenger or commercial) and other details were not provided. The Marina del Rey Station activated its Emergency Operations Center. Shortly thereafter, LAX Airport Police reported the plane had made a safe landing without incident. Ocean Rescue response was quick and efficient, which resulted in a smooth and coordinated response.
