Investigators with the Sheriff's Dept & State Police assist special agents from the Attorney Generals office

On September 25, 2014, investigators with the Garland County Sheriff’s Department and the Arkansas State Police assisted special agents from the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office with the execution of a search warrant at an address in the 100 block of Bledsoe Circle. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 42 year old Zachary Nehus of Hot Springs. Nehus was charged with 30 counts of Distributing, possessing, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child; class C felony. His initial bond was set at $105,000.00.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Department continues to receive calls and questions related to the investigation and arrest of Zachary Nehus. Most recent inquiries are concerning how long this agency was aware of Mr. Nehus’ alleged actions. We must stress that this was an investigation initiated and conducted by the Attorney General’s office out of Little Rock. The Garland County Sheriff’s Department’s Internet Crimes Investigator, was contacted the evening before the arrest and was asked to assist with the execution of the search warrant the following morning on September 25, 2014. This was the first contact that the Garland County Sheriff’s Department had concerning this investigation and the allegations against Mr. Nehus. Again, we are referring all inquiries to the Attorney General’s office, as this is their investigation. The Attorney General’s office can be contacted at 501-682-1553.
