Los Banos Swears in Two New Police Officers
The Los Banos Police Department welcomed our newest officers during a graduation and swearing-in ceremony in San Jose, California.
Richard Mancera, 29, and Luis Castellanos, Jr., 28, graduated from the 17th class of the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Justice Training Center. The pair was sworn-in during a graduation ceremony as the Los Banos Police Department’s 37th and 38th police officers.
Mancera began his career as a Community Service Officer with the Department in May 2007. Mancera worked in the Police Department jail facility up until the time he hired as a Police Trainee in February 2014. Castellanos worked in the Public Works Department from March 2006 until February 2014, when he was hired by the Police Department as a Police Trainee.
The officers were both raised in Los Banos and shared a common lifelong goal of becoming police officers in their hometown. In pursuit of their dream, Mancera and Castellanos both earned their Associates Degree from Merced College.
“Richard and Luis are great additions to the Police Department. We are proud to have them serving our community and we expect great things from both of them.”
- Gary Brizzee, Chief of Police
