All three roadways will be chip-sealed as follows:
1. Binder is put down and stone is applied
2. A second binder is put down and finer stone is applied
3. The road surfaces are then fog-sealed, which is a black sealer that will result in the final surface appearing similar to an asphalt surface
4. Wabash will be striped
Weather dependent, the contractor is planning to start this final phase of the project on Monday, 10-6-14. It will take a total of 2-3 days, again depending on weather.
They will start on Ohio and Pennsylvania, then work on Wabash and proceed south to Cone Road. This order will be the same for each phase; they will bind and stone Ohio and Pennsylvania, then do Wabash proceeding south to Cone Road; come back and do phase 2, starting with Ohio and Pennsylvania then working on Wabash and proceeding south to Cone Road; come back and do phase 3, again starting with Ohio and Pennsylvania then working on Wabash and proceeding south to Cone Road.
The roadways will remain open to local traffic, but motorists should expect delays and utilize the posted detour route if possible. Residents on Ohio and Pennsylvania may experience very short delays getting out of and into their driveways as the equipment passes, but all the roads will be accessible.
