Murder Investigation in Washington County

Washington County- On April 24th of this year, detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg began a Murder Investigation after the Washington County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call for an emergency at the address at 8541 State Road #335 in Pekin, (Washington County). When officers arrived they discovered a deceased female identified as Kristi L. Williams, 41, of Pekin, IN, at the home. The Pekin Town Marshall and Washington County Deputies contacted detectives and crime scene technicians from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg to assist in the investigation.

An autopsy was completed in the morning hours of April 25, 2014, on the body of Kristi L. Williams at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, KY. The preliminary results showed death due to severe trauma to the neck area.

After the Murder Investigation was completed it was turned over to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office for review. After reviewing the information and evidence Washington County Prosecutor, Dustin Houchin, has decided to close the case without charges. After a very careful and tedious review of the facts, the prosecution strongly believes that the person or persons responsible for the Murder of Kristi L. Williams is deceased.

If new evidence appears or is presented to the police or prosecutor’s office that leads to possible other’s involvement in the crime, the case will be immediately re-opened.

Nothing further will be released.
