The Swissvale Police Department is investigating several thefts of copper from unoccupied or abandoned residence in the Borough of Swissvale. Officers believe that person or persons who are driving work vans or trucks and on one occasion a Subaru station wagon are going to the structures during normal business hours. The suspects are going to the basement and removing the copper water lines and other metal items. The activity does not look suspicious as it may appear that they are working on the house.

Residents are asked to call 911 immediately if they see anyone fitting the above description at an abandoned or unoccupied house.
