On Saturday, the lane assignments for southbound Murrieta Blvd. at Stanley Blvd. were modified to accommodate changes in traffic demand. The new configuration has the #1 lane (farthest left lane) being shared for both left turns and going straight through, the #2 lane (center lane) is for straight through traffic only, and the #3 lane (farthest right lane) remains as a right turn only lane. The City has placed advance warning signs followed by a very large changeable message board informing motorists of the changes ahead. The pavement markings of the lanes affected by the changes are clearly marked, and the overhead sign at the traffic signal was also changed to reflect the new lane assignments. We want to alert our community's drivers of the changes, and ask that drivers pay special attention as they pass through the intersection heading south. Hopefully these changes will help to ease congestion on southbound Murrieta Blvd.
