Join Pasadena Firefighters to form a Sea of Pink around the Rose Bowl to Kick-off Go Pink Week
Pasadena Firefighters invite the public to join them on Monday, October 13th for a lap around the Bowl to kick-off Firefighters Go Pink week when personnel will turn in the black and blue uniform shirts for pink to raise awareness of breast cancer and cancer research.
Meet in front of the Rose Bowl neon sign at 7:30 a.m. for a warm-up and the walk begins at 8:00 a.m. Celebrity Trainer Dion Jackson will conduct a free pre and post workout so bring a mat and towel. The United States Youth Volleyball League will bring a team of Pro Beach players to challenge attendees after the walk and provide giveaways.
Firefighters have an increased risk of cancer and it’s vital they maintain a healthy lifestyle with diet and exercise to reduce risks. Fire personnel will forego uniform shirts for pink ones with the International Association of Firefighters and Pasadena Fire Department logos. Shirts will also be sold to the public and 100% of monies raised will be donated to the Huntington Hospital Breast Center which provides supportive groups and treatment from diagnosis to recovery.
As public servants, Pasadena firefighters have the opportunity to lead by example in the community everyday which enables them to promote awareness and support a cause that has affected every member of the department.
Wear pink and join us to bring greater awareness to a series of events this week.
