Several Cars Entered and Items Taken Overnight/Early Morning Last Night
Please see attached Community Advisory for details, however at least 10 vehicles were entered throughout the city last night during the late night/early morning hours. None were broken into; all were unlocked. Several were rummaged through with nothing taken; several had items that were left inside taken. A suspicious occupied vehicle was observed parked in the parking lot of the apartments on Hurd at 4:30 am with at least one subject inside that appeared to be looking at items using a cell phone or small light. The vehicle was described as smaller. Items missing from a purse that was stolen were recovered on the ground next to where that vehicle was seen. Citizens are requested to lock their cars, not leave valuables inside, and call police if they see anyone out on foot, on bikes, or suspicious vehicles during the late night/early morning hours. The PD will be concentrating on residential areas over the next several days/nights conducting extra patrols.
