ROADS CLOSED: Multiple Railroad Grade Crossings are CLOSED or will be CLOSED in Kosciusko County.

This afternoon, officials, emergency services, and school system representatives met with Norfolk Southern Railroad Corporation representatives and found out that the following railroad grade crossings, along the north south Norfolk Southern railroad tracks, that are CURRENTLY CLOSED in Kosciusko County are:
County Road 900 South
County Road 800 South
Section Street (Claypool)
County Road 550 South
County Road 350 South
County Road 300 South
Ranch Road (Warsaw)
The leveling rehabilitation of these currently closed grade crossings should be complete before this weekend, weather dependent.

The following railroad grade crossings, along the north south Norfolk Southern railroad tracks, in Kosciusko County that WILL BE CLOSED within the next few days are:
Fort Wayne Street (Warsaw)
Arthur Street (Warsaw)
County Road 350 North (Warsaw)
County Road 600 North
County Road 1000 North
Once closed, the leveling rehabilitation of these grade crossings will take approximately one week to complete, weather dependent:

It is requested that motorists avoid these areas. NS representatives acknowledge that multiple closed grade crossings are an inconvenience and frustration for motorists, so when applicable, advanced warning signage will be posted, to assist the motorist to choose a different route. Police advise that it is always best for motorists to know at least one alternate route to their destination. After today's unexpected closures, NS representatives will notify the Kosciusko County Central Dispatch Center when they close a crossing and again when it has been reopened.
