On October 10, 2014 at approximately 11:17 a.m., police officers from the Noblesville Police Department responded to the intersection of 8th and Logan Street (Noblesville) in reference to a report of motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, preliminary information suggests that a 2007 Ford Freestyle was traveling northbound on 8th Street and was attempting to turn westbound onto Logan Street when the crash occurred. Witnesses state that just prior to the crash, a pedestrian was walking northbound across Logan Street when the vehicle struck him. It appears that the pedestrian was walking within the boundaries of the designated crosswalk and was crossing in accordance with regulatory lights at the time of the crash.

The victim suffered injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by ground ambulance to I.U. Health Methodist Hospital (Indianapolis). His condition was unavailable at the time of this release. The pedestrian has been identified as Curtis T. Jones, 37, of Brownsburg, IN.

The driver of the Ford did not sustain any injuries. The driver has been identified as Zoe L. Marks, 80, of Noblesville, IN. There was an additional passenger in the vehicle and that person did not suffer any injuries either.

Members of the Accident Reconstruction Unit were called to the scene to collect evidence and investigate the crash. The intersection of 8th and Logan Street was closed for approximately an hour and a half while investigator gathered information and spoke with witnesses. The case remains and ongoing investigation. It does not appear that alcohol or weather was a factor.
