EAPD recently acquired a black lab certified in drug/narcotics detection. K-9 "Clip," along with his handler will undergo approximately 80 hours of additional training in order to attain NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice Services certification. Funding for K-9 Clip came from asset forfeiture money and grant money. Ptlm. Waldron/K-9 Clip marks the third K-9 team maintained by EAPD. Prior K-9 teams included Lt. Ron Krowka/K-9 Frey (GS) and Lt. Shane Krieger/K-9 Zando (GS). K-9 Clip and Officer Waldron are expected to be ready for road patrol by mid November.
