SUBJECT: Increase of SUV 3rd Row Seat Thefts
Detective III Nina Serna, Pacific Area Detectives, Auto Coordinator
issues this Alert.
If you own / drive a SUV, Pacific Area is currently experiencing an increase of thefts involving the removal of SUV 3rd row seats.
Four (4) seats were stolen in Pacific Area this week. (All over the division)
TIPS:
* Park in a secure garage
* Have an audible car alarm
* Whenever you leave your vehicle unattended, turn your car alarm on. Even if you are at home.
* Pull into parking spaces backwards
* If you are not currently using your 3rd row seat, you can take it out of your vehicle and place it in a secure location until you need it.
* If you have video surveillance and one of your neighbors is burglarized, check your video to see if your camera uncovers any leads. If so, please call Pacific Area detectives at: (310) 482-6313
* If you see anyone in possession of a 3rd row SUV seat and they look suspicious, do not approach them personally. Call us!
