GCSO Detectives seeking public’s help for information in Ronnie Archer death investigation

On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an investigation into the death of Ronnie Archer who was found deceased in his red Ford Explorer on N State Highway 13 near W Farm Rd 88. An autopsy conducted last week determined Archer sustained a gunshot wound to his head as an official cause of death.

Archer’s family reported him missing on Sunday evening, October 5, 2014, having last seen him earlier that day. GCSO Detectives are still actively investigating this case to determine more specific details as to what occurred from the time Archer was reported missing until he was located deceased in his vehicle.

GCSO Detectives are seeking any information about a person of interest which was seen near Archer’s vehicle on Monday evening in a gold or metallic colored Toyota pick-up truck. At this time, Detectives need to speak to this individual who may have additional information pertaining to the case. Through the course of this investigation, Detectives are also trying to locate a Henry 0.22 caliber rifle which was missing from Archer’s vehicle. The rifle is described as a Model H001M, 0.22 Magnum, lever action rifle with a wood stock; also missing is a black and tan soft rifle case.
