On 10/17/2014 at 1535 hrs Skokie Police responded to the area of 4335 Oakton for a man with a gun. Investigation revealed this individual, a male black 20-30 years of age around 6 feet tall and skinny entered the Salvation Army Retail Store. The suspect was wearing a black scarf and tan trenchcoat. He is also described as having curly hair / wig and possible facial hair that may have been a disguise.
The suspect displayed a firearm and demanded money. The suspect fled the store eastbound on foot. An extensive search of the area has been conducted and continues utilizing the police canine. Area schools have been notified. Please call 911 to report any suspicious activity.
