Several males and one female were in the area off East Morganton Road at approximately 4:00 PM going door to door soliciting business as a tree service company. The Southern Pines Police Department has not issued a permit for any door to door sales. The Pinehurst Police Department investigated a similar complaint earlier today arresting one male for an outstanding probation warrant. The tree service indicated they were from Lexington, NC and were operating an older model blue and silver Chevrolet pickup bearing North Carolina registration ER9877. This door to door solicitation without a valid permit is in violation of the Town of Southern Pines Code of Ordinances.
