On Tuesday October 21, 2014 at 12:05 am, Officers responded to a single vehicle vs. tree traffic collision in the 1300 block of east San Bernardino Rd. Upon arrival officers found the four male occupants of the vehicle suffering serious injuries. The Upland Fire Department responded and extricated the driver and two backseat passengers. The front passenger, a 22 year old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 23 year old male, and the injured passengers, males ages 19 and 21 years, were transported to local trauma centers for treatment. The driver and one passenger are listed in stable condition. The third passenger is currently listed in critical condition. The names of those involved have been withheld pending family notification. Alcohol and marijuana are suspected to be a factor in the cause of this collision. The Upland Police Department Traffic Division is currently conducting an investigation.
