The 70th annual Mercersburg Halloween Parade will be on Monday evening, October 27, 2014. Entertainment in the Square beginning at 6:00 p.m. Parade will begin at 7:00 p.m.

In the event of rain, the rain date is Tuesday evening, October 28, 2014 and all temporary regulations will apply to October 28, 2014 in the event of rain. The Mercersburg Police Department is requesting the public’s cooperation in regards to the temporary parking regulations required for the Mercersburg Halloween Parade.

All residents & businesses are hereby advised of following temporary “NO PARKING” regulations:

1. No Parking on the entire Square or north side of West Seminary Street after 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014. This is needed to set up bleachers for the parade. NOTE: Tickets for seats in the bleachers can be purchased from any of the Banks, Modnur’s Drug Store, or the Mercersburg Borough Office. They can also be purchased on the evening of the parade from Lion Club members in the Square for $3.00 each.

2. No Parking on either side of North Main Street from the Square to McKinstry Alley and South Main Street from the Square to entry to the First National Bank Parking lot after 12 noon on Monday, October 27, 2014 so chairs can be set up in the parking spaces.

3. No Parking on either side the entire length of Main Street after 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014.

4. No Parking on either side of Oregon Street from North Main Street to Church Street after 4:00 p.m. on October 27, 2014.

5. No Parking on either side of the entire length of Church Street after 4:00 p.m. on October 27, 2014.

6. No Parking on either side of the entire length of Linden Avenue after 4:00 p.m. on October 27, 2014.

7. No Parking on either side of the entire length of Constitution Avenue from South Main Street to East Seminary Street after 4:00 p.m. on October 27, 2014.

8. No Parking on either side of East Grandview Avenue after 4:00 p.m. October 27, 2014.

ANY VEHICLE REMAINING PARKED THE SQUARE OR NORTH SIDE OF WEST SEMINARY STREET AFTER 9:00 A.M. ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2014 WILL BE TOWED AT THE OWNER’S EXPENSE.

ANY VEHICLE REMAINING PARKED ON ANY OF THE STREETS LISTED ABOVE AFTER 4:00 P.M. MONDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2014 WILL BE TOWED.

Any vehicle parked in violation of this temporary parking restriction will be subject to a fine of $25.00 and having their vehicle towed at their expense.

If residents or Business owners need to move any traffic cones or barricades placed in the Alleys to egress or access their residence or business, please replace them in their respective positions, after egress or access has been made.
