Under the direction of Chief James O'Connor and Public Safety Commissioner John Montillo the Lyndhurst Police Department in conjunction with the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (OHSP) is hosting a Terrorism Awareness and Prevention presentation at the Seniors Citizens Building 250 Cleveland Avenue Lyndhurst NJ, 07071 on Tuesday November 18, 2014 at 7:00 pm.
The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (OHSP) has developed the Terrorism Awareness and Prevention (TAP) Program to raise awareness of the terrorist threat to the whole community through special outreach sessions.
About the TAP Program
This program has been approved by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to inform first responders and the general public on how to recognize and report suspicious activity to mitigate acts of terrorism on people and property throughout New Jersey.
It illustrates how we, as a community, can participate in helping to protect our families and friends. Through a one-hour Power Point presentation, the speaker will elaborate on various issues such as the Goals and Agenda of Both Domestic and International Terrorist Groups, the Eight Signs of Terrorism, Terrorism Financings, and provide information on how individuals can contact authorities to report suspicious behavior.
What is the Cost
There is no cost to deliver this course. It is available as a service to the community.
Who Should Attend
This training course is a great program for local communities and organizations. OHSP has travelled throughout the State delivering the materials to various CERT Teams, Department of Public Works Employees, Fire Companies, Emergency Medical Service Technicians, Private Business Organizations, Community Volunteer Organizations, Civic Organizations, Church Groups as well as Senior Groups.
