Red Coats Shooter Gets 5 Years Prison

Today, October 21, 2014 Jason Anthony Landes (21 years old) was sentenced to 5 years state prison for his involvement in a shooting that occurred at Red Coats British Pub in Pleasanton, CA on January 26, 2014. Landes pled no contest to a charge of 245(a)(2) of the California Penal Code – Assault with a Firearm; and a charge of 12022.5 of the California Penal Code – Use of firearm in the commission of a felony.

On January 26, 2014 at 12:54am the Pleasanton Police Department received a 911 call for shots being fired inside the Red Coats British Pub & Restaurant located at 336 St Mary St. Officers arrived on scene and quickly learned the suspect had fled prior to their arrival through the south exit of the restaurant. Witnesses reported seeing a male subject inside the restaurant pacing and acting strange just before the shooting began. Witnesses heard popping sounds and saw a lone suspect with a silver handgun shooting into the ceiling of the main bar area from a stairwell at the rear of the business. Most of the bullets struck the ceiling area however; one bullet struck a patron on his left buttocks. That same day at 2:30pm, Pleasanton Police Detectives arrested Landes of Pleasanton for the shooting at Red Coats British Pub & Restaurant.
