BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston area man was arrested for child endangerment.
Dewey Wesley Davidson II (38) of 104 Jamie Lynn Road, Sikeston, Missouri was arrested by the sheriff’s office on Thursday, October 23, 2014, and released this afternoon on a Criminal Case Summons.
Sheriff Walter states that on Thursday, at approximately 1:10 p.m., Deputy Danny Finley responded to an address on Scott County Highway 532 to assist the Missouri Division of Family Services. An investigation was commenced into a reported allegation of an injury to a child. Deputy Finley observed a bruise on the juvenile as reported, and believed the bruise to be consistent with the information provided by the complainant. In an attempt to fully investigate the matter, the deputy contacted Davidson. Davidson stated that he did not strike the juvenile, and would not speak with Deputy Finley further without an attorney. Davidson was arrested at approximately 2:42 p.m. and transported to the Scott County Jail.
Davidson was released on a Criminal Case Summons on Friday, October 24, 2014. The court issued the summons with a scheduled appearance of November 19, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Associate Circuit Court Division. Davidson has been charged with the Class A Misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the Second Degree.
