Sheriff Arnott announces results from DWI Checkpoint
On Friday night, October 24, 2014, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI Checkpoint in the area of the S West By-Pass and W Farm Rd 142 in southwest Greene County. The primary focus of the checkpoint was to remove impaired drivers who posed a risk to the motoring public due to their inability to safely operate a vehicle.
The checkpoint began shortly after 10:00 pm and concluded at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. A total of 1347 cars were checked; the following arrests were made and tickets were issued for violations:
11 – Driving While Intoxicated arrests
2 – Outstanding Warrant arrests
19 – Tickets for Driving While License Revoked or Suspended
1 – 2nd Degree Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer arrest
1 – Ticket for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
