Arrests made in First St. stabbing
UPDATE
Pleasanton Police Detectives made two arrests in the investigation of a stabbing which occurred in the parking lot of the Plaza Speed Wash on October 20th. Detectives arrested 21 year-old Franco Estay of Pleasanton as they served a search warrant on his home on October 25th. Estay was identified as the man who stabbed the victim. Earlier in the week, detectives arrested 24 year-old Arturo Sanchez Jr of Pleasanton. Sanchez was identified as having driven the suspect away from the scene after the assault.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Estay for attempted murder, section 664/187 P.C. and against Sanchez for being an accessory to the crime, section 32 P.C. The identification of the suspects was made possible, in part, by high quality surveillance cameras located in the area where the crime occurred. Both suspects were booked at Santa Rita Jail. The victim has been released from the hospital.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Stabbing)
At 6:03 P.M. this evening patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the parking lot of the Plaza Speed Wash, located at 4241 First St. While in route officers learned that the victim, a male in his 20’s, had already been transported to a local hospital emergency room by a relative. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had likely been involved in some type of dispute with another male, which led to the suspect stabbing the victim several times upon his upper body. The suspect fled the scene and no associated vehicle was seen. The victim is currently being treated at a local hospital. His wounds are serious but do not appear to be life-threatening.
The victim was unable to provide a detailed description of the suspect. However, the Pleasanton Police Department is actively pursuing investigative leads. Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, additional details are not being released at this time.
