The US Marshals Service Northern District of Indiana assisted the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office with apprehending 3 wanted registered sex offenders over a two day period. On 10/27/2014, arrest warrants were issued by the Steuben Superior Court charging 53 year old Ronald C. Albright of Angola, 51 year old Kenneth J. Brinkman of Ashley, and 37 year old Bradley A. Trouten of Angola with one count each of failure to register as a sex or violent offender. The warrants came after three separate Sheriff’s Office investigations into alleged violations of Indiana’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry law. Sheriff’s detectives received information that Albright, Brinkman, and Trouten allegedly failed to report a change in required information to the Sheriff’s Office with in the required 72 hour time limit. Once the arrest warrants were issued, Sheriff’s detectives reached out to the US Marshals Service Sex Offender Investigations Coordinator, Senior Inspector William Boothe for assistance in apprehending the wanted non-compliant registered sex offenders. On 10/28/2014, Brinkman and Trouten were taken into custody without incident by the US Marshals Service and Albright was taken into custody on 10/29/2014 without incident. All three were booked into the Steuben County Jail on one count of failure to register as a sex or violent offender, a level 6 felony. Brinkman posted a 10% cash bond and was released. Albright and Trouten remain held in the Steuben County Jail in lieu of a $5,000.00 bond pending an initial court appearance.
