Increase in Residential Burglaries Near Bellflower High School and Caruthers Park
The month of October has shown an increase in residential burglaries, specifically in the neighborhoods around Bellflower High School and Caruthers Park. October has totaled, so far, thirty-nine residential burglaries, as opposed to our monthly average of twenty-one residential burglaries. Our statistics show a projection of a 15% reduction in crime as a whole and a 6% reduction in residential burglaries from last year. This leads us to believe that this increase in residential burglaries could be from the actions of an individual or small group of residential burglars. Please go to www.bellflower.org to review our current and historical crime rates.
As an aside, the City of Bellflower's latent fingerprint program has been able to identify a suspect who is believed to be responsible for at least one of the burglaries near Caruthers Park and Bellflower High School.
As always the City is highly motivated to keep our communities safe and protect its residents.
