Two suspects are in custody for Tuesday evening's shooting on 4500 Canoga
On 10-28-14 at approximately 5 pm, the Montclair Police Department responded to the 4500 block of Canoga St regarding a possible shooting which had just occurred. Officers discovered the victim seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle suffering from one or more apparent gunshot wounds. Life saving measures were attempted, however he was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding paramedics. Preliminary witness statements indicate some sort of verbal confrontation at the vehicle with occupants of another vehicle. In response, gunshots were fired, which appear to have struck the victim. The driver was unharmed and there appear to be no other victims.
On 10-29-14, Officers with the Ontario Police Department responded to a call in their City and located a vehicle possibly matching the description of the shooting suspects. Two suspects were detained associated to the vehicle. Montclair Detectives responded to the location and located two handguns, bandannas, and other evidence linking the two suspects to the crime. Both were ultimately taken into custody and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for PC 187, Murder, PC 664/187, Attempted Murder, and PC 186.22, Gang Crime Enhancements.
