Riley Fire Department personnel and members of the Riley Odd Fellow Lodge #500 distributed safety bags today to each student at Riley Elem. School. Inside each bag was fire safety information about smoke detectors and included a new 9 volt battery. With the upcoming time change this weekend members of both organizations want to remind everyone to change the battery in your smoke detectors that don't have extended life batteries in place. Also included in the safety bags was a glow stick to aid students in remaining visible tonight as they trick or treat. This is the 4th year for this project and is funding by local businesses.
