BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Jackson man arrested for burglary and stealing.
Alex Anthony Ressel (20) of 2335 Aspen Drive, Jackson, Missouri was arrested and later released on a Criminal Summons with the charges of a Class C Felony of Burglary in the Second Degree, and the Class C Felony of Stealing.
Sheriff Walter states that on Sunday, November 02, 2014 Corporal Justin Wooten took a delayed report of a burglary that occurred in early October at a residence on State Highway PP near Scott City.
According to the report, the victims were identified as family members. They provided information that Ressel was the perpetrator of the crime. It was alleged that Ressel enter the residence while the family was on vacation and stole jewelry valued at an estimated $8000.00.
Ressel turned himself in at the Scott County Jail requesting to speak with a deputy. Corporal Wooten advised him of his Miranda Rights and conducted an interview. Ressel admitted to unlawfully entering the residence and stealing the jewelry which he later sold at a Cape Girardeau pawn shop for approximately $100.00. Ressel was arrested and incarcerated pending formal charges.
Detective Staff Sergeant Branden Caid assisted with the recovery of the stolen jewelry. All items were recovered.

Ressel was released on the Criminal Summons issued by the court to appear on November 18, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
