Details: On Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at approximately 1:09 p.m. the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to a domestic dispute call for service in a residential neighborhood near the east end of Route 44 in the Town of Poughkeepsie. The caller indicated that his 32 year old stepson had entered the house without permission and in violation of a local court Order of Protection previously issued against his stepson. The stepfather reported that his stepson had threatened him with what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun. The stepson removed some personal items and clothing from the house and fled.

A subsequent investigation resulted in the suspect being located in a motor vehicle on Route 9G in the Town of Poughkeepsie at approximately 3:50 p.m. Police Officers attempted to stop the suspect but he failed to comply and attempted to flee northbound on Route 9G into the Town of Hyde Park. He was stopped a short while later without additional incident.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department was assisted with stopping the suspect by the Town of Hyde Park Police Department. The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office also assisted during the investigation.

A continuing investigation is being conducted in an attempt to recover the handgun alleged to have been used during the initial incident.

Arraignment Information

The defendant was arraigned on November 4, 2014 at 11:56 p.m. by Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Paul Banner and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash/$200,000 bond to reappear on November 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
