BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports the second domestic violence arrest occurring today.
Matthew Wayne Carmack (23) of 57 Lone Oak, Sikeston, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Domestic Assault in the Second Degree.
Sheriff Walter states that on Monday, November 10, 2014, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Sergeant Charles Pratt responded to 57 Lone Oak in Scott County in reference to a domestic disturbance between Carmack and a female. The two were advised by Sergeant Pratt to separate for 12 hours, and warned if any further domestic incidents occurred an arrest would be made.
The sheriff states that at approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning Deputy Danny Finley was called back to the residence for a second disturbance. After speaking with both parties, the deputy determined that Carmack was the primary aggressor, and an assault had occurred. The female victim was transported to the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for evaluation. She complained of severe pain in her right knee.
Sheriff Walter praises the arrest by Deputy Finley. The sheriff states that this is the second arrest for domestic assault by his office today. Sheriff Walter states that if Carmack had followed the order of Sergeant Pratt he would not have been arrested.

Carmack remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond has been set by the court at $5,000.00 cash only.
