Jefferson County 911 will begin accepting 9-1-1 text messages from the public on Thursday, November 13 
November 13, 2014 - Beginning today, Jefferson County 911 Communications announced that public safety has taken a major move forward. Through Indiana's strong, coordinated approach to public safety, Jefferson county 911 is joining with other 9-1-1 centers across the state that are now providing the public with access to 9-1-1 through the use of text messaging from their wireless telephone. The Jefferson County 911 Communications Central Dispatch Center will begin accepting 9-1-1 text messages from the public on Thursday, November 13, 2014.
