The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) has awarded the city of Palm Desert a grant for a year-long program of special enforcements and public awareness efforts to prevent traffic related deaths and injuries.

The Palm Desert Police Traffic Services Team will be holding a bicycle safety community educational presentation at the Palm Desert City Council chambers on November 22, 2014 at 8:00 am. Deputies will be discussing bicycle safety, including the new three feet for safety act enacted in September. Bicyclists and motorists are encouraged to attend the presentation. Funding for this program is from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
