Giles County Sheriff Kyle Helton and his investigators have been busy investigating several burglaries that have occurred at various farms in Northern Giles County over the last few weeks. Arrest have been made in the case and other charges and arrest are pending as the investigation continues to move forward. Those arrested are Thirty Year old Michael Anthony Lindsey from Mt. Pleasant. Lindsey was arrested on November 18 by the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force on warrants form Lawrence and Giles Counties. Lindsey is charged with Theft of property over $1000.00, Theft of property over $10,000.00 and violation of circuit court probation. Lindsey was placed on probation for eight years in 2011 set to expire that probation in 2020. The probation charges were Initiation of methamphetamine manufacture and possession of schedule II drugs. He remains in the Giles County jail with a bond set at $100,000 on the theft charges and a hold without bond on the probation violation out of Lawrence County Circuit Court.
Paul Andrew Hedgepath, thirty seven years old from Summertown, TN was arrested and charged with theft of property over $10,000 and remains in the Giles County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
Austin Lee Burchell Sr. thirty eight years old from Pulaski was arrested and charged with theft over $10,000 and remains in the Giles County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
Investigators believe there is a connection to methamphetamine use in these thefts. The Giles County Sheriff’s Department asks that anyone who had bought property form any of these individuals or had other dealings or been approached about purchasing property please call the Sheriff’s Department and speak with an investigation at 931-363-3505. The trio sold stolen property in Maury and Marshall Counties and possibly other counties.
Investigators are still trying to locate a 2012 camouflage John Deere Gator, 2011 camouflage Honda Rubicon, 24 foot Trail Lite camper white-teal in color and an orange Husqvarna lawn tractor. If anyone has any information on these items please call an investigator at 931-363-3505.
