Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews are responding to a 12-inch main break at 24 Puiwa Rd. off of Pali Highway in Nuuanu.
The break was reported at about 7 a.m., initially affecting dozens of Nuuanu customers nearby, including the Nuuanu Elementary School. However, the BWS has since able to limit the water closure so that the break will affect only six customers in the immediate area.
The BWS will be providing alternate water sources for affected customers:
• a spigot on the fire hydrant at the corner of Pali Highway and Puiwa Rd.
• a water wagon at the St. Francis Hospice, located on Puiwa Rd.
The break has forced the closure of Puiwa Rd. between Pali Highway and Park St. Area motorists are being asked to please use alternate routes while repair is underway.
