Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston area man charged with forgery.

BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston area man charged with forgery.

Kyle Nathan Irvin (28), no permanent address, has been charged with the Class C Felony of Forgery.

Sheriff Walter states that Irvin was transported to the Scott County Jail on Sunday, November 16th, by another agency on unrelated charges. When Irvin was booked into the jail, he identified himself as Andrew P. Irvin, his brother, and signed that name.

Jail Administrator Tina Kolwyck was contacted by the transporting agency the following morning, and advised that Irvin was using his brother’s name. When confronted Irvin admitted he had used his brother’s name in an attempt to get out of jail.

Deputy Zac Harris completed an investigation and filed a probable cause affidavit. A warrant was issued on November 18th charging Irvin with the crime.

Sheriff Walter states that it is not uncommon for those arrested to claim they are someone else. They often choose the identity of a family member. The sheriff asks that anyone who has information regarding any criminal activity to contact the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at 545-3525, or leave a message on the crime tip line at 1-866-210-4322.

Irvin remains in custody in the Scott County Jail on this and other charges. Bond was set by the court on this charge at $10,000.00 cash only.
