Reminder of Winter Parking Ban in City of South Burlington (December 1 – April 1)

INCIDENT TYPE: Reminder of Winter Parking Ban in City of South Burlington (December 1 – April 1)

BRIEF NARRATIVE: The South Burlington Police Department has begun placing reminders of the winter parking ban on vehicles parked on city streets and in the city right of way. Citizens must plan for alternate parking from December 1 thru April 1 if they normally park on the city street or right of way.

South Burlington City Ordinance, Section 32 states: “No person, shall between the hours of 12 midnight and 8am including Sundays and legal holidays, during the period of December 1 of each year to April 1st of the following year, park any vehicle within the limits of any public highway of the City in such a manner as to interfere with the prompt and orderly removal of plowing of snow, removal of ice, or sanding or salting of highways.”

Violations may result in ticketing and towing. This ordinance is enforced regardless of the weather so that city streets remain clear throughout the winter months.
