Monroe County – The Indiana State Police responded to a Bloomington address to investigate an alleged incident involving a Bloomington man and a 15 year old female late yesterday evening. Upon the officer’s arrival, the parents indicated when they checked on their daughter in her bedroom, they discovered an unknown male in bed with her. Both were found to be not fully clothed.
The parents kept the male from leaving the residence until Troopers arrived.
It was learned the man had gained entry into the residence through the window of the girl’s bedroom after the two had met on Facebook the night before. The investigation revealed the man had allegedly had sexual intercourse with the girl before her parent’s arrival into the room.
The man was identified as Joshua A. Wright, 28 of 3209 East 10th Street, Bloomington. (Photo 1) Wright was arrested on the following charges;
Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Level 4 Felony (2 Counts)
Wright was transported to the Monroe County Jail where he was lodged.
If convicted, a Level 4 felony in Indiana carries a penalty of between two and twelve years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.00.
The Indiana State Police stresses the filing of criminal charges is only the beginning of the process and that the Defendant is presumed innocent until and unless guilt is proven in court.
