Below are the closures and parking restrictions that will be in effect for Saturday, December 6, 2014 as a result of the Christmas Parade and associated activities.

The route this year is different than in the past, and as a result the parade staging area, road closings, and parking restrictions will also be different this year. The parade will start at York and Main at 6PM, proceed east on Main, and then south on Wabash, ending at Neckel Court.

In the past, staging for the parade, as well as the start was at Railroad Street. Because Railroad Street is no longer available, the new staging area will be on York Street between Main and Michigan Avenue. York Street will therefore be closed and parking prohibited between Main and Michigan from 4:30 PM thru 6:30 PM. In addition, parking will be prohibited on First Street between York and Church from 4:30PM to 6:00PM to allow for the safe drop-off of walkers, band members, and others who will be marching in the parade.

Due to additional activities scheduled on Tolan Street before the parade, Tolan will be closed and parking prohibited on Tolan between Main Street and the driveways just north of the businesses from 12:00PM- thru 8:00PM.

The Police Department will attempt to re-open areas that are closed to traffic as soon as it is safe to do so.
