SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Breaking and Entering Arrest
DATE AND TIME: November 26, 2014
LOCATION: Belvidere Township
Deputies from the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office where dispatched to a daytime break-in report on November 26, 2014 on North Miles Road in Belvidere Township. The investigation revealed that several items were taken from the home including jewelry. The Sheriff’s Office continued to investigate the incident and worked with the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office who was also experiencing similar crimes.
The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office was able to identify and focus in on one particular suspect. As the joint investigation continued it was learned the possible suspect had pawned items at a nearby pawn shop and those items were eventually identified as stolen property in various break-ins. A search warrant was executed upon the suspect’s home within Belvidere Township on November 25, 2014 and as a result, more stolen property was recovered and the suspect was arrested at that time with the intent to charge her with Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property. The investigation continued which led to the clearing of the break-in that occurred on North Miles Road as well as break-ins that occurred in Mecosta and Isabella Counties.
The suspect, Juliana Jean Nielsen, age 61 from Lakeview, has been arraigned on a charge of Home Invasions Second Degree and is currently out on bond awaiting further court action. The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate these cases in coordination with the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police in Mount Pleasant.
