On Thanksgiving, November 27, 2014 at approximately 7:30 PM, five purses that were left in plain view inside parked vehicles were stolen on North Hale Street and North Page Street. A K-9 from the Southern Pines Police Department successfully conducted an article search locating all five purses which had cash removed prior to being abandoned.
While the Southern Pines Police Department has made numerous arrests of suspects for committing these types of crimes, prevention remains the single best method in averting this crime.
