SEX OFFENDER RELEASE NOTIFICATION FOR 49 YEAR OLD DENNIS L. WIEGLEIN IN WIS RAPIDS
SEX OFFENDER INFORMATION BULLETIN
On 06-01-97, Wisconsin State Statute 301.45 & 301.46 – The Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law came into effect. Prior to this legislation, individuals similar to the one listed in this bulletin were being released into communities with only law enforcement agencies being notified.
Based on this law, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, with the assistance of the Department of Corrections and the Wood County Sex Offender Classification Review Team is authorized to provide the following information to select areas of the community. Based on the law, neighbors, schools and businesses in the vicinity of the residence of the offender are being notified via this bulletin.
On or before 12/18/14, the following person will be released and will reside at 1230 1st Street North, Apartment #6 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, 54494.

Offender Summary:
Dennis Wieglein has been designated as a Level 3 Sex Offender. This is the highest classification of notification level in so far as a potential threat or danger to the community at large.
Dennis Wieglein was convicted of First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child in Washington County in 1986. Dennis Wieglein was also found not guilty by reason of mental defect, and committed by the court for the offense of Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child in Wood County in 2010. The victims of these offenses were juvenile females who were known to Dennis. Dennis also has a history of hosting underage parties involving underage drinking.
Dennis Wieglein will be living at 1230 1st Street North, Apt. #6, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, 54494. He is a lifetime registered sex offender and must comply with all requirements upon release including GPS Monitoring. Dennis will be under direct supervision by the Department of Corrections Supervising Agent John Hanten at 715-422-5278.
