Semi-annual, test of emergency warning sirens scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 10am.
Mayor Amato would like residents to be aware that Oyster Creek Generating Station will conduct a Siren Test. The siren test is Scheduled for Dec. 2nd at 10am. Sirens to sound for three minutes.
This is one of two semi-annual tests scheduled for the first Tuesday of June and December each year.
Exelon Generation replaced all 42 emergency warning sirens in the 10-mile radius around Oyster Creek with new, state-of-the-art units featuring battery back-up. The original sirens were removed earlier this year.
The purpose of the sirens is to notify residents to tune to an Emergency Alert System (EAS) radio or television station in case of an emergency.
