THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO NOON CST MONDAY.
* IMPACT: LATE TONIGHT RAIN IS EXPECTED TO FALL ONTO FREEZING TEMPERATURES AT THE SURFACE POSSIBLY CAUSING TRAVEL ISSUES MAINLY ON ELEVATED SURFACES SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.
* TIMING: RAIN SHOULD START CHANGING OVER TO FREEZING RAIN OVER PARTS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS AND SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AFTER MIDNIGHT...THEN MIGRATE SOUTHEAST AS TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO DECREASE.
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS: ICE ACCUMULATIONS IN MOST AREAS SHOULD BE LIGHT BUT A FEW AREAS ALONG AND EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM CAPE GIRARDEAU TO POPLAR BLUFF MISSOURI COULD RECEIVE SLIGHTLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.
* OTHER IMPACTS: PERSONS TRAVELING ACROSS THE ADVISORY LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MIDDAY MONDAY SHOULD DO SO WITH EXTREME CAUTION...ESPECIALLY WHEN CROSSING BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.
